Finding The Golden Thread:

Poetry Reading Discussion & Mini-workshop

Dear Writers,

If you're free tomorrow evening and in the City of SF looking for something writing-related to do, I hope you'll join me for this reading and mini-workshop that I am presenting at Project Artaud.

The Golden Thread -

The golden thread is a single strong line that holds everything together and helps both reader and writer find meaning.

Whether it be in Ariadne’s meandering, weaving a golden thread into a piece fabric, writing copy that conveys a central message, or a narrative plotline that moves a story, a guiding principle that decides a legal process, or creating a core value, or a metric that leads to success, the golden thread is what gets us there.

This workshop applies the concept of “the golden thread” to writing, especially poetry.

This mini-workshop and poetry reading applies the concept of “the golden thread” to writing, especially poetry.

Poetry Reading: In this interactive poetry reading, I'll read my own work from different years/decades of my life and I'll invite participants to think about their own golden thread that weaves throughout their writing and lives.

We will be looking at key pivot points in our own lives and think about how to to use words to weave our way in, out, and through them.

This evening was commissioned and inspired by Sara Shelton Mann and Mixed Bag Productions

Sara Shelton Mann took my Method Writing Workshop over ten years ago when I first launched it at North Beach's Emerald Tablet Gallery, and then she came back and took it again this year. I am proud to be her writing teacher. She is a very accomplished choreographer and performs and teaches all over the world. It has been an honor to work with her!

Here is a link to Sara's website to learn more about her dance/choreography and teaching work.
